- The Look - How it's cut and edited, how the episode paces, and how it feels as a separate singular piece of media
- The Unravel - How Columbo actually gets from A (she knows who killed them) to B (the reveal at the end of the murder)
- The Murder - The premise and setup as well as the execution of the murder
- The Bad Guy - How great the villain and how great their interactions are
- The Overview - Just how we feel about the episode as a whole
